The route of the Lavender Federation Trail between the Reisling Trail and Spring Gully Conservation Park has been amended. The cycling route, shown as a dotted blue line will follow Trevarrick and Saw Mill Roads to the Ridgetop Track, the original walking trail route as shown on Map 6 Manoora to Clare.
The new walking trail section now uses a shared section of the “Clare Valley Wine and Wilderness Trail” (CVWWT) through Jeanneret Wines. The property backs onto the Spring Gully Conservation Park and their Cellar Door is a spectacular set up, complete with large deck and outdoor fireplace, all set among the natural Spring Gully landscape. Well worth a stop when walking this part of the Clare Valley.
Many thanks to Ben Jeanneret of Jeanneret Wines and Michael Nugent and Tim Grigg of the CVWWT to enable the Lavender Federation Trail to take advantage of the area.
The map above is labelled “Terry Lavender Federation Trail” as well as trail markers through the Spring Gully Conservation Park section. Authorities were concerned the “Lavender” reference on trail markers would be associated with the lavender plant.
Details of the Clare Valley Wine and Wilderness Trail (CVWWT) can be found on their web site. The opening of the final stage of the CVWWT was featured in the June 2023 “Footsteps and Pedals” newsletter.
